Treatments For Hair Loss In Women (other Types Of Hair Loss In Women)

What are the treatments recommended for female telogen effluvium? How about for mild and severe cases of female alopecia areata?

After a thorough analysis and recommendations of the treatment for female androgentic alopecia, we will now tackle the treatments for the other types of hair loss in women namely, female telogen effluvium and female alopecia areata.  These are just some of the few medications you may want to take a look into.

Treatments for Female Telogen Effluvium

Female telogen effluvium as previously discussed is a state where a larger number of follicles enters into the so-called telogen or resting state.  Aside from hormonal issues, deficiency in vitamin intake is also considered as its root cause.

Needless to say, despite the bad effects it may contribute to the female appearance, there is also an associated treatment.  As compared to female androgenetic alopecia, this condition may take you to full recovery of the hair you have lost through time.  The treatments virtually include repair of the hormonal issues as detected in the blood tests and administration of hair growth stimulants that will help stop the condition.

• Growth stimulants.  The growth stimulants have already been discussed in previous chapters and the types of products under this category were already enumerated.  To refresh you a bit, you may take Nizoral shampoo twice a week to combat your female hair loss problem.

• Copper Peptides.  This is a known effective remedy to the female telogen effluvium problem.  The resting state may be shortened by taking in these treatments.  On a greater advantage, you may totally get rid of the resting state after a series of treatments.

Treatments for Alopecia Areata

Female alopecia areata is characterized by a small and to a greater extent,  larger patches of missing hair.  The case may be looked up into depending upon its gravity.  This is usually caused by several contributory factors as seen in the results of blood tests and clinical background of the patient.

Treatment of alopecia areata may be done by running through the course of the hair loss type.  The mild cases are treated differently from the severe ones. The mild type wherein hair loss is usually less than 50%, treatments recommended are:

• Anthralin cream or ointment.  This is topical and applied directly to the area depending upon doctor’s prescription.

• Minoxidil.  The 5% formulation should be applied two times a day.  Take  note that  you might shred hair initially during the first days of usage.  This scenario should be considered normal upon proper explanation of your physician.

The more sever scenario of alopecia areata which is a case where more than 50% hair loss is experienced by the patient, should be treated as follows after completion of blood tests:

• Cortizone Pills.  Since the case is more severe, you are advised to take this one after proper consultation with your doctor.

• Topical Immunotherapy.  This is a medication that stops the root cause of the problem by means of directly pointing into the adverse reactions.

Please always consider the steps to gathering information on women hair loss before you jump into these treatments.  Self-medication may heighten your problem should you neglect the responsibilities you need to undertake.
