The Role Of Trichologists In Hair Thinning Problems

If your hair is starting to thin out and you are so concerned about it, it is time for you to visit your Trichologist, an expert in hair and scalp problem. You may want to know what he exactly does to help you with your hair thinning problem.

The Trichologist can help you treat your problem and give some helpful advice on how you can grow your hair in the healthiest way.  Before a trichologist can give you the proper medication for your problem, he will conduct a series of tests and examinations for you.

Diagnosing your hair thinning problems

The trichologist has the following roles to play in the verge of your hair thinning problems.  He follows an actual series of steps to define what is going on with you.  These steps are:

• Filling-up of forms.  He gathers some vital information including your medical history from these forms.  This process will help him determine your health problem for the past two or three months.  All questions pertaining to hair care and the products you are using will be noted accordingly.

• Physical Examination.  The trichologist will conduct a thorough physical examination of your hair and scalp.  He would look for any other signs that are causing your hair thinning problems like, itchiness, scaling and redness. The moment he rules out these symptoms, he would begin to see if you have a diffused hair thinning.  This is a condition that is caused by hair loss all over your head.

For further physical examination, he will run his hands on your hair to check other signs of thinning.  He will gently pull some of your hair from the different areas of your head to see if they will pull out easily and in great quantity.  He will ask certain issues on brushing the hair and the number of strands you lose per process.

• Hair strand exams.  The trichologist will then examine the hair strand that he pulled out from your head under the microscope.  After the thorough examination of your hair, that is the only time that he will tell you, if he can still correct the cause of your problem or if he can still restore the original thickness of your hair.

When the trichologist examines your hair under a microscope and he noticed that your hair has white bulbs at the end, it means that your hair is in the stage of falling.  He would also examine if there are small anlagen bulbs.  These bulbs will help detect the stage of your hair.  If you have this, it means your hair is in the growth stage, thus you have nothing to worry about.  He will also try to see whether your condition will lead to anagen effluvium.

The trichologist will give you all the right information, causes, medications and treatments for each type of hair thinning and hair condition problem.  For every kind of hair loss problem, a possible solution is recommended by the specialist.  Feel free to visit your trichologist immediately before you lose everything.
