There are a lot of transplantation procedures that sprung from the idea of regrowing hair. This fact is the reason why others become outdated. These outdated processes are also considered to be dangerous to be undertaken by anyone these days. In order to let you know what procedures to avoid, we will share with you a list of outdated hair transplantation procedures.
Techniques in hair restoration may offer a lot of chances depending upon the type of hair transplantation procedure. Needless to say, some also give you dangerous possibilities. It is too troubling to note that many experts still adapt these outdated surgical treatments for hair loss.
Avoiding hair transplantation
This subject does not mean that you ignore the whole transplantation process. We just want you to understand which ones may not help and may cause too much pain on your part. You may no longer get the outcome you want from the following passé operations:
• Flapping. The name itself hurts even if you do not exactly know what happens in this hair transplantation procedure. The procedure is actually done by getting a flap of the scalp with hair and extending them to other surfaces where hair loss is prevalent. Stitches here and there are done in order to restore the hair back. Though it is done by surgical experts in many hospitals, it is still dangerous because it could produce unfavorable effects from the simple unnatural hair growth to the complexities of infection and extreme scarring.
• Linear Grafting. This should not be mistaken with the so-called Neo-grafting. Line grafting is a surgical method wherein three to four millimeters of hair strips are removed from either the side or the backs of the head considered as donors. These portions are not evenly distributed on the balding area instead it is grafted in a single surface. The dreading results are comparable to linear grafting of the wheat fields where the plants grow on a defined straight line. Not natural at all, isn’t it?
• Scalp Reduction. This outdated method is quite similar to that of flapping. This is performed with administration of local anesthesia and the balding scalp removed from the head. The remaining parts of the head which have hair are literally sewn together in order to make the hair regrow. The most threatening effects of scalp reduction extend to scarring, hemorrhagic effects and thinning of the scalp.
• Scalp Expanders. This procedure is done by using silicones. The latter are inserted in the pocket-like appearances in the scalp in order for the area to stretch out in directions where hair is no longer evident. The wounds will heal but your head will apparently be larger in structure plus you will experience inflammation within the area.
Any medical center or expert who offers all the above procedures should be left out with nothing. You have other options which could create successful and favorable outcomes. They may offer the outdated methods on a cheaper basis but your health may be taken into a harmful stance. In the long run, you will spend more with these hair transplantation procedures.
