Diet Tips To Reduce Hair Loss

Combating any health condition means having a good diet as well. When we do not experience any bodily disorder, we sometimes neglect our role of eating healthy. For hair loss, there are also diet tips that you may consider.

Hereditary influence is one of the factors being pointed as the cause of permanent hair loss or balding, of some individuals.  But in temporary hair loss, the culprit besides other causes is nutritional deficiency.  If proper nutrition is maintained, poor nutrition can be avoided.

What to include in your diet

Addressing your hair loss problem may mean taking more steps to add healthy food in your daily allowances.  A diet for hair loss includes the following:

• Monosaturated fats.  These fats are like the ones found in nuts and extra virgin olive oil.  They can help in revitalizing the hair follicles and may also prevent hair loss.

• Soya.  Include a good source of soy protein in your diet.  This can help in stimulating hair growth.

• Iron.  Eat a lot of foods that are rich in iron to avoid anemia.  The latter is known to be one of the causes of losing hair.

• Silica.  Include silica-rich food in your diet to give you healthier and shinier hair.

• Iodine.  Incorporating iodine-rich food in your diet will help you maintain a healthy hair.

What to avoid in your diet

Along the line of diet tips, you must also consider what to avoid in order to lessen your hair loss problems.  Included in the list are:

• High-fat and High-sodium diet.  This can be a factor to hair loss problem.
Diets that contain too much fat and sodium can damage our kidney and can accumulate acidity to our blood, thus the result is hair loss.  A low fat and sodium diet can help in slowing down the onset of hair thinning.

• Insufficient protein.  Inadequate protein in our diet can result to hair loss because it can lead the hair into its resting stage.

• Large amounts of carbohydrates.  Eating foods with large amount of carbohydrates is not advisable because the glucose, which is the result of the digestion process of carbohydrates, can raise the blood sugar level of the body.  High quantity of blood sugar in the body can cause hair thinning.

• Alcoholic intake.  Too much alcohol can affect and lower down the level of zinc, vitamin B, vitamin C, and folic acid level in our body.  The result thus leads to vitamin deficiency.  If you have insufficient vitamins in your body, your hair growth will be affected.

• Caffeine.  Too much caffeine can lessen the levels of vitamin B, vitamin C, potassium, and zinc.  Lower levels of these vitamins and minerals can result to the accumulation of DHT, which helps in acquiring more hair loss.

There are a lot of natural ways and medical products to preserve your hair.  You only need to follow religiously the tips and regimen for reducing the hair loss problem.  As long as you follow the steps mentioned above, you need not worry about having hair loss problems in the future.
